Thekking is an IT service provider offering a variety of services for businesses. Thekking was founded in 1999 and has from the beginning had a clear focus on providing personal and quality service to its customers. The name "Thekking" is the Icelandic word for "knowledge". It signifies the intent of the company to have a competent staff that can utilize and relay its knowledge for the benefit of its customers.
The company’s origin dates back to 1974 when the IT department of a local retail and wholesale company (KEA) was founded. Thekking later emerged from that department as an independent company owned by KEA and key employees. Today the company is one of the leading local players in the industry
The company employs around fifty people who are situated in two locations in Iceland, in Akureyri (north area) and in Kópavogur (the capital area).
