Þekking offers its colocation customers the opportunity to utilize our highly-skilled staff to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair their equipment through our Remote Hands service.
System administrators
Þekking has system administrators who have extensive experience in almost every system there is in the market, including Microsoft and Linux. Our administrators are well educated, have a broad experience and live to the principal that anything is possible.
On Site Service / User support
One of Þekking’s goals is to be able to provide our customers with full service as if we were their IT department. Our field technicians and Operations control unit oversee the user support for many of our customers. Customers have the option of calling our support center personnel who use remote assistance. If the problem cannot be solved remotely then our on site support is responsible for completing the task in the customer’s location.
Data centers
Þekking is one of Iceland’s largest data center providers specializing in colocation applications. With data centers located in two areas of the country, the company serves a diverse client base, ranging from public institutions and municipals to privately held companies of all sizes and sectors.The company’s focus is set on providing high quality, personal service to all clients, regardless of their size. We realize that hosting our customers´ equipment and data requires great responsibility and constant monitoring. The company’s hosting environments are equipped with first class fire protection, various access controls, redundant UPS, back-up generators and cooling systems. Þekking holds an ISO 27001 certification. The company’s data centers have been designed to meet the high demands of the ISO 27001 standard and a special emphasis is placed on security with a suite of information security controls in accordance with its demands.
The data center offers a 1 gigabit connection to our primary carriers and a 100 Mbit connection to the backup carrier. The data center operates on Cisco network and switching equipment and the the network is designed with optimal performance and availability in mind.
Operations control
Þekking offers its customers a 24/7 access to Operations Control. Operations control is responsible with first stage customer service and system monitoring. Systems are monitored proactively to avoid service-impacting downtime and any discrepancies are reported, fixed and the process documented according to internal procedures.
Consulting and Custom Solutions
Þekking employs various experts in the field of software engineering, database structuring, project management, etc. These experts are combined in a special division within the company focused on providing a professional guidance and an added service value for our customers. Among the projects that the division has overseen in past years are intranet designs, business intelligence projects, management of large scale IT projects, Document Management, Microsoft Dynamics software consulting and implementations, and more.
